How to Use the Text Splitter

This tool allows you to break down large walls of text into manageable lines, words, or individual characters. It's incredibly useful for data entry, formatting layouts, or analyzing text structure.

1. Select Your Split Mode

At the top of the tool, choose how you want to divide your text using the three tabs:

  • Split Lines: Breaks the text apart at every line break (where you pressed Enter). It generates a clean vertical list.
Best for: Organizing addresses, lists, or code snippets.
  • Split Words: Removes line breaks and splits the text into words. You can adjust the "Words per Chunk" setting to group multiple words together in a single cell.
Best for: Creating flashcards, tags, or keyword lists.
  • Split Characters: Strips all spaces and breaks the text into individual letters or symbols. Adjust the "Characters per Chunk" to group letters together. Check "LF as New Line" if you want line breaks in your original text to force a new row in the output grid.
Best for: Formatting serial numbers, phone numbers, or license keys.

2. Generate & Copy

  • Once your text and parameters are set, click the primary Split button.
  • Your results will instantly appear below in either a List or a Grid.
  • One-Click Copy: No need to highlight text! Simply click any row or cell in the output view, and it will immediately be copied to your clipboard. You'll see the cell temporarily flash with a colored ring or background to confirm the copy.
