Step-by-Step: Using the Converter
Here’s the simple process:
1. Open the Converter
Go to the Unicode to NonUnicode page on AndhraCode in your browser.
2. Input Your Unicode Text
In the Input Field Type Unicode Text using Google input Tools on Desktops or using G-board Telugu keyboard or even Telugu Voice Typing on G-board on your Smartphone:
- You can also Paste the copied Telugu Unicode Text from your Clipboard.
- When you Paste into the input field you don't need to click
Convert & Copybutton . . . It automatically Converts the text and Copies to Clipboard (Works in Windows and Android). Mac and iPhone users might have to copy manually (Once Check if that's the case).
3. Optional Settings
You can choose what options you Need:
- You can also Load the Telugu Bible Verse if You want.
- You can also Insert the Date and Time of an event by using Insert Event Date & Time Option.
- Replace spaces — uses Non-Unicode Space if this option is Checked. If it's Unchecked the Spaces are Unicode. This option is used to arrange the words in the sentences in proper order without breaking the sentence like in the middle of the word when resizing the text frame in Editing Software.
- Alternative Ra vatthu : By Default Ra - Type 01 is Selected.
- Alternative Ra vatthu = OFF → Ra - Type 01 → Ra Vatthu comes Before the Letter (E.g: Pragathi)
- Alternative Ra vatthu = ON → Ra - Type 02 → Ra Vatthu comes after the Letter (E.g: Hyranya)
- For the Fonts like Aaradhana, Amrutha, Bapu Brush, Chandra Script. . . Ra Vatthu is from Right to Left. Use this Feature for Proper Ra Vatthu Rendering.
- Enable auto-copy to Clipboard so the converted text automatically gets copied after conversion. (Works well on Windows, Android) on Mac not yet tested.
- For Legacy Apps If You are Using Legacy Apps like Pagemaker, or any other old Software You Need to Enable "For Legacy Apps"
4. Convert Text
Click on “Convert & Copy.” The tool will instantly generate the Non-Unicode Text. If you didn’t enable auto-copy, just select and copy the output manually.
5. Use the Converted Text
Now that your text is in Non-Unicode format, paste it wherever you need it:
- In a design app that supports Non-Unicode fonts,
- In desktop publishing software,
- Or into documents requiring specific Non-Unicode Telugu fonts.
👉 Make sure you have the corresponding non-Unicode (Anu or other legacy) font installed, otherwise the text may appear as gibberish or boxes.
💡 Tips for Best Results
- Check font support — install the appropriate Anu font on your device before using the converted text, especially in tools like Photoshop or Word.
- Proofread — because conversion isn’t always perfect, review the output before final use.
- Replace spaces Use this Feature when App or Editing Software doesn’t render Spaces Properly or You already formatted Unicode text into proper Lines by pressing Enter.
